It is a fact that the new year did not start off well what with the earthquake in Japan and an uptick of the war between Israel and its enemies in the Middle East.
There is no doubt that we live in very troubled times so any news about the future should be welcome news. Or should it?
We invite Barbadians – especially those of the household of faith- to listen to this prediction about Barbados and decide for yourself whether what you hear is good news or bad news or indeed whether it is “from God”.
But there are two countervailing things you should bear in mind.

You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.
Deuteronomy 18: 21 – 22 New International Version
The second is from the New Testament and is for those who are so skeptical as to be unbelieving:
But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.” Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He marveled because of their unbelief…
Mark 6: 4 – 6 New King James Version
