Greetings and blessings for 2025. Even as we went through what was supposed to be a season of peace and giving in December 2024, we were forced to recognize that peace is easier said than done.
For even as we proclaimed peace and gave gifts, there were literally millions of people at war, running for dear life and with no one to offer them hope, far less a gift. That was and still is, the fate of the Ukrainians and Russians, Israelis and Palestinians alike as well as countless numbers in jail in Iran and other communist countries such as China.
But none of this should surprise us because the same Jesus who said, “Blessed are the peace makers” in Matthew 5:9 also said, five chapters later; “I came not to send peace but a sword.” Matthew 10:34.
Those who love to find fault with the Bible will seize upon this as yet another contradiction and offer it as yet one more reason for believing that the Scripture is NOT the inspired word of God. To such persons we say, “Go ahead and make God’s day!”
But it gets “worse”, because in that same chapter, Jesus went on to indicate, that far from bringing peace, he had come to turn:
“a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law [and] a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.”
Could this be the same Jesus whose birth the angels announced by proclaiming “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men” in Luke 2:14 KJV? Is there a mistake somewhere? Did the angels get it right? Let’s see:
The NIV (New International Version) renders Luke 2:14 as follows:
Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
The BSB (Berean Standard Bible) puts it this way:
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!”
And the CEV (Contemporary English Version) renders the passage as follows:
Praise God in heaven! Peace on earth to everyone who pleases God.”
So then, peace was never intended to be upon those who do not please God or have his favour! But we should have known because elsewhere, Scripture says it all:
“There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.” Isaiah 57:21 NIV
So, there was never a contradiction in the angel’s message! And Jesus was not contradicting himself! The truth is that the truth of Luke 2:14 was lost in the translation!
But here again we should have guessed because this is the same Jesus who proclaimed, “I am the way the TRUTH and the life” John 14:6. And even if we did not get that, we should have guessed it from Jesus’ message to the disciples as he sent them out into the field in the same Matthew 10:
11.Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave. 12.As you enter the home, give it your greeting. 13.If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. 14. If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet. 15.Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town. Matthew 10: 11-15 NIV
Are you there? Peace is not for those who do not welcome God into their lives. Like the poor, we seem to have an abundance of such people in the world: from treacherous d**p st*te actors to conniving private entities such as big pha**a, to blood-thirsty M**slim extremists who want to control all of us. We have them all among us. So, forget peace IN THE WORLD!
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
That was Jesus speaking to his disciples, not the rest of the world. As many believers can confirm, we can have “the peace that passes all understanding” (Philippians 4:7) in the middle of a world of absolute chaos.
But why are we saying this in a message devoted to the prophetic outlook for 2025? The reason is simple. Only those who are men and women of goodwill will have peace! And only those who know the same Jesus will understand what God is saying about the future.
We live in a world of experts, prognosticators and propagandists who think they know how things will work out, what with their AI and other paraphernalia. Invariably they leave God out of the picture, a very foolish and dangerous thing to do indeed.
Only those who understand that God is Master of the messy, Master of the hopeless and Master of the precipice will understand His version of 2025. Only those who understand that God is a strategist par excellence and a God of the impossible will understand this prophetic outlook for 2025.
Despite how things may appear on the surface, despite how it looks as though they are going to trend – as the experts like to say – God is in control. God ALWAYS has a strategy, always has a plan! So, we can know THE NEWS BEFORE IT HAPPENS. That is just what “prophecy” is! The problem is this:
8.For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. 9.“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55: 8 – 9 NIV
That was God speaking in the Old Testament. Do we really need to say anymore?
So, with the foregoing as background, we invite you to listen to and study the prophetic word for 2025 by Brandon of the Last Days Youtube channel. It is one of those channels we audit regularly.
